Dear 13 year old

Dear 13 year old, stop trying to be something you're not, it's pointless. Believe me, you will find people who like you for you. Wear what you want to wear. Do something you love whether it's a sport or an art or reading even if people don't understand how you could miss a big party to go play in a soccer game. Middle School isn't everything and the transition into high school might seem scary but honestly it's nothing. Don't cancel plans with your friends for your "boyfriend or girlfriend" because they are way better then your one week relationship.

Spend time with your family. Care about your grades but don't be obsessed if you make one bad grade, it will be ok. Stay home for one night on the weekends, trust me, you will be well rested for school this way. Being nice to everyone doesn't mean you have to be friends with them just being nice is a great thing. It's better to have a couple true friends then have a bunch of fake friends.

  1. I definitely agree with this! I actually love it when I have no plans of the weekend because I spend time with my family, get ahead with homework, and rest! This way, I'm not cramming to finish homework during the school week.

  2. I agree with you and Hayley! I wish I was told this when I was this age because this is really helpful. People that age should read this.
