Reading Response to Lord of the Flies 10/24
The Lord of the Flies is a book that is different from something I had ever read before. It is third person omniscient which I don't like that much. It also has underlying themes in it which is cool. I wonder why the author made it third person and didn't make it from Ralph's point of view. One thing that surprised was when the little boy died in the fire because the boys weren't paying attention. Another thing that surprised me was how calm all the boys are acting because if I was in that situation, I would panicking.
As I was reading I noticed how the boys are handling the situation of having no adults. They are trying to build structure but are struggling. All they do is fight which I understand but then again I don't because they just need order. I wonder if the boys will every be rescued. I also noticed that most of the boys just don't care and haven't came to the realization that they are all alone on this island. They need to wake up and start learning to survive.

LOTF Human Nature
I believe that we as humans are flawed but also full of possibility. I believe that humans make a ton of mistakes but their is also good in us. I believe that all humans are loving and are cable of love. I think that in our society everyone just sees the bad of whats going on in the world and in our daily lives. What we really need to focus on is the goods because there are so many good things that happen in just a regular day. I feel like every human struggles with seeing the good in life.
My parents, my friends, and my beliefs have made me think this way. My parents have always taught me to have a positive outlook on life and to see things in different ways. I treat my friends well and they treat me well back in return. I was always taught treat others as you would want to be treated. I have also been taught that we all make mistakes but the most important thing is to learn from our mistakes.

Fall Break
During my fall break I went to visit my sister and family in Oklahoma. I visited Oklahoma University and it is beautiful. I love the campus and the weather how it gets cold. I got to see the dance program there and it was nothing I had ever seen in real life. I didn't realize how great the dance program is at OU. I got also got to the costume shop where they make all the costumes for the plays and the ballets. It is the second oldest costume shop in the United States!
I am so thankful that I also got to hang out with my family on my fall break. I got to see my little cousin Levi, my aunt, my uncle, and my other cousin. My little cousin Levi is two years old and is the cutest baby ever. I also got to go shopping and I bought new clothes. This fall break was great and I'm ready to come back to school and work hard!

Reading Response to Scarlet
I am reading Scarlet by Marissa Myer and I am half way done with it. One thing I have noticed about Scarlet is how it ties in with Cinder. It does switch between the two characters, Cinder and Scarlet but I know they will meet up soon. As I was reading, I could tell they would meet up because Cinder says she will go to Paris and that is where Scarlet is. I like how all the books in this series will connect like this.
I wonder why the author made it to so that the characters would connect like this. Scarlet and Cinder are very different characters not only physical but also how they act emotionally. One thing that surprised me was when Scarlet defended her grandmother so quickly, you can tell she really cares about her. What I like most about this series is that the books are based off of fairy tales. Cinder is based off of Cinderella and Scarlet is based off of Little Red Riding Hood.

Procrastination 10/10
Procrastination: Is Your Future Self Getting a Bad Deal? by Timothy A Pychyl Ph. D explains why humans procrastinate and how it is affecting us. I attempt to overcome procrastination by telling myself that I can do whatever I want after I finish the task that I need to do that day. I just tell myself I just have to get through it. I procrastinate in a lot of different ways from having to do my homework or getting up in the morning, I procrastinate. What helps me not to procrastinate for school is to make a schedule of time to do my homework and breaks.
I blame my procrastination for being so stressed all the time. In my head I'm telling myself "You have so many things to do why not just sleep instead!" which is a horrible idea. I usually do overcome my procrastination sometimes, for example, for school when I know I need to do well to make a good grade. I agree with the author that we have a lack of special concern for future selves because we are worrying about others. I try to always make sure others are well before I start to take care of myself. I now know that I need to put myself first sometimes so I do not procrastinate.

Music 3/10
Music is a great thing and I am very thankful for it. I love music because everyone interprets it differently. I also love music because there are so many different types of music. It also is fun when you find someone that likes the same band or artist as you. Also if you love music then it will probably lead you to go to a concert which are so much fun.
Concerts are such a freeing thing to do. Its a break from normal life to see a band/artist perform for 1-2 hours to just let go. When I'm at a concert I'm just singing along and dancing and having a blast with my friends. I also so dance which has made me appreciate music even more. When you dance you can go with the music or against and be as creative as you want.
Reading Response Cinder 10/3
I started Cinder by Marissa Meyer a couple days ago and I finished it in class Friday. It has been a while since I have been able to find a book that interests me that much which makes me happy. I think the reason I loved it so much was because the way the author writes. The way she writes is flows to page to page and makes you want to not stop reading. As I was reading I noticed that this book is based off the fairytale Cinderella which is very cool because it is similar yet different.
One thing I noticed while I was reading Cinder was that the author wrote in sections. She wrote in four sections calling each part book 1, book 2, book 3, and book 4. I wonder why she called it book when it was just a section? She also put a quote at each section that would have to do with what would happen next. I did like that she did that though because it felt like you were ending a bigger chapter of the book.
